Power of Attorneys can be done in person at the embassy or sent by mail to the embassy to be legalized for those done before a notary public.


All Power of Attorneys (in person or by mail) should include the full identity of both applicant and recipient:  First and Last name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of Birth, Nationality, I.D. or passport number and date of issuance, Registry place and number in Lebanon.

In Person Power of Attorney

General Power of Attorney done in person at the Embassy

Applicants must be able to read, write and understand Arabic. If not, please apply for a Power of attorney by mail.

1) ID of the applicant (Lebanese ID recommended).

2) ID of recipient (copy of Lebanese ID recommended).

3) The applicant should come in person to the Embassy to sign the general power of attorney.

4) FEES: 50 USD

Special Power of Attorney done in person at the Embassy

Applicants must be able to read, write and understand Arabic. If not, please apply for a Power of attorney by mail.

1) ID of the applicant (Lebanese ID recommended).

2) ID of recipient (Copy of Lebanese ID recommended).

3) The applicant is required to come in person to the Embassy to sign the special power of attorney.

4) FEES: 25 USD

Please note:

For cars: A copy of the car registration record should be presented.

For bank accounts: The bank address and account number should be provided.

For divorces: A copy of marriage certificate or family civil record should be provided.

By Mail Power of Attorney

The Embassy of Lebanon legalizes the Power of Attorneys done before a notary public and authenticated by Ministry of foreign affairs (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan) if all requirements are fulfilled.

Legalization of Signature (General Power of Attorney) by mail

1) All Power of Attorneys received by mail (Special and General) composed of more than one page MUST include the signature of the applicant and the seal and sign of Notary Public on each and every page of Power of Attorney.

2) All Power of Attorneys should include the full identity of both applicant and recipient: First and Last name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of Birth, Nationality, I.D. or passport number and date of issuance, Registry place and number in Lebanon.

3) Notarized by the Notary Public (Must include the following statement on the same page signed by the applicant and the two witnesses: “Before me personally appeared Mr. /Ms. /Mrs. ….. Holding ID/passport number…… and witnesses Mr. /Ms. /Mrs. …… holding ID/passport number…… and signed the above document, this day …/…/… “ then signature and seal of the Notary Public, and the expiration date of commission.)

4) Authenticated by the Ministry of foreign affairs.

5) Power of Attorney and a photocopy of it.

6) Copies of I.D.’s of applicant and recipient (For Lebanese, a Copy of Lebanese ID is required).

7) Applicant must provide a clear address and correct contact number for the applicant.

8) A money transfer payable to the Embassy of Lebanon

6) Copies of I.D.’s applicant and recipient (For Lebanese, Copy of a Lebanese ID is required).

7) Applicant must provide a clear address and correct contact number for the applicant.

8) Regarding the sale of property, the applicant must include a copy of the deed of trust. The number and location of the property also needs to be mentioned clearly in the power of attorney.

9) A money transfer payable to the Embassy of Lebanon
